Happy Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day this year. The morning started off with me sleeping in until 8, which is always wonderful. Then we went to church where Brandon and I teach the sunbeams, this week we had 11! Yes, you read that right 11! Then once we got home I put Bindi down for her nap and Brandon made lunch, which was really good, and a plus that i didn't have to cook it. Does anyone else think that the food is better when they don't have to make it? Then we watched a few Lost (Just started the 1st season and we are liking it so far.) Anyway here are some pics.

Lied's Children's Museum.

Brandon had Saturday off and since it was so rainy we decided to take Bindi to Lied's Children's museum. Plus if you are a bank of america customer you get in free the first weekend of every month ( we only had to pay for Bindi). We had a blast and here are the pictures to prove it!
Brandon even had time to teach Bindi how to change a tire.
Trying to make a big bubble.
She LOVES bubbles! Playing at the water station.

She was so fascinated by these bubbles

The even had a tornado simulator. It was VERY windy!

it was all going so well

It had been a good week, in fact it had been a great week. The sun was shining the kitchen was clean... ok so it was rainy and my kitchen was a disaster, but all was well.
Then in one quick second it all went down hill... It was January 14th which happened to be Brandon's birthday ( a rather large birthday for him, pics to come later) Bindi and I had decided to go and put humiliating flyers up at Brandon's work and decorate to celebrate and make sure everyone knew how old he was. As we were going up the stairs Bindi missed a stair and slammed her chin down on the stair which made her bite THROUGH her tongue. There was blood everywhere and lots of it. We rushed to the E.R. where the Dr. debated stitches for a while before sending us home and telling us to see our pediatrician in 3 days to make sure it wouldn't need stitches.

So after the trauma that was the ER (more for me than her) we went home, had a popsicle, and continued on our journey to love/humiliate my dear husband. (pics to come soon)
Now, I wish that's where is ended, but sadly its not. 2 days later Brandon and I ended up taking Bindi to the ER at 1am! She had thrown up everywhere! So as we started getting a bag ready to go she threw up on me, our bed, Brandon, and one more time on me before we left. Finally we arrived at the ER where she once again threw up on me while at the front desk. They got her back very quickly and gave her some zofran which worked a miracle with her. As we were sitting in same room where we were 2 days prior I was lucky enough to remember where the bathroom was, because as I was sitting there I got sick and had to literally run to the bathroom. We returned home at about 4:00 in the morning. Brandon got up at 6:30 and went to work and Bindi and I slept all day on the couch. Before Brandon left for work he took this picture.

4 Years!

On January 7th Brandon and I were married 4 years! He had to work on our anniversary so we celebrated that following Friday. However, on our anniversary he had some beautiful flowers delivered to our house! Then on Friday we went to dinner at Olive Garden and then went and saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie (loved it). While at Olive Garden I asked Brandon about some of his favorite moments from our wedding day. One of his favorite memories was when he lost his truck keys after we got out of the temple (for those of you who know him this does not come as a surprise). Everyone had already left and headed to the reception so we were stranded at the temple for at least 45 min to an hour waiting for someone to bring us keys so we could go to our reception. I started laughing because that was also one of my favorite memories from our wedding day. We sat and just talked and had a few moments to ourselves to absorb our day so far. I should have known at that point in time that it would not be the first time Brandon lost or misplaced (the word Brandon likes to use) something. I love Brandon with all my heart and I am so thankful for who he is. He is someone who could care less about what other people think of him and he is almost impossible to embarrass. However, he embarrasses me with such ease. He is truly my best friend and I am so looking forward to when he is done with school so that we can have more time together. He is an amazing dad and a devoted husband. Brandon is the one person in this world that can calm me down just by walking into the room. I know this post is totally mushy and I am SO not a mushy person, but when it comes to him I can put my wall down just a little bit. I love you with all my heart, you are my best of bests and my truest of trues. Now hurry up and finish school already!

Its been a year...

It was a year ago on september 11th 2008 that Bindi's amazing Dr. in Salt Lake removed Bindi's tumor from her eyelid. We were and are so thankful for the amazing job that he did. The doctors here offered us little hope and kept brushing me off, they told me that most likely she would go blind in that eye, but because of Dr. Patel our little girl has NO vision damage! We went up to see him about 2 months ago and he was very pleased with the progress. Time goes by so fast! There are no words to describe the relief that I have. We only have to see him once a year now, but I will forever be thankful for his kindness and the gift that he has given out little girl. Below are pictures of the progression of the tumor and then the after surgery pictures! Get ready to be amazed!
Bindi right after she was born
Bindi at 1 week old
Bindi at 2 weeks old, you could just start to see it. This is when the dr.s kept telling me it was a sty.
Bindi on 4th of July, I had finally found a dr. (with the help of my amazing mom) that agreed it was not a sty and that wanted us to come to Primary Children's in Salt Lake to take a look at it.
It had grown quite a bit in just a week.
Bindi on her blessing day, she was 2 and a half months.
By this time the Dr. knew that it was going to be removed, but wanted to try to wait till she was 6 months old to do so. He wanted us to take lots of pictures and make sure that her eyelid wasn't dropping to far down over her eye. ( He feared possible vision loss)
As you can see it began to droop down over a substantial part of her eye. We sent him this picture and he immediately scheduled her surgery for 9/11. She was only 4 and 1/2 months old.
The day after surgery. The Dr. told us that it would most likely be swollen shut for the first 3-5 days, but our snoopy little girl wasn't going to keep that eye shut for anything! The minute we took her bandage off she started looking around to make sure she wasn't missing out on anything.
